We’ve Forgotten The Way

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

So much darkness
So much pain
So many hurting
We’ve forgotten The Way.

Our schedules are full.
Our busy lives are maxed out.
We watch junk on TV and constantly numb out.

We scroll through our phones.
We don’t read God’s word.
We can’t discern His voice over the voice of the world.

We believe all the lies.
We believe there is no hope.
The enemy has stolen our hearts attention.

Surrendering to God? “No way!” We say.
“I’m just going to do things my way.”

Life isn’t found in people or places, fancy homes, perfect bodies, or perfect families.
It isn’t found in full bank accounts, vacations, popularity, or likes on social media accounts.

We’ve decided to worship what our hands have created,
Forgetting that God is King over all of creation.

Forgive us Lord, our identity is found in all else, but You.
Help us to step down from our throne and worship only you.

Let’s open our eyes, look up and believe.
On our knees, let’s beg God, “Have mercy on me.”

Forgiveness and freedom are found in the blood shed on the cross.
In this life, Jesus is sufficient and more than enough.

He is sovereign, loving, merciful and strong.
He says, “seek” and you’ll find what your soul should stand on.

He’s our strong foundation when all else will fail.
He opens His arms and welcomes all who draw near.

Easter is coming.
Jesus has conquered the grave.
Salvation is found in no other name.

Worship the King.
Bow your heart at His feet.
He is worthy of all our offering.

Oh my! This is so spot on. It articulates exactly what I see and feel in my heart. I want to share this with several people who I think will find it so meaningful. Thank you for allowing God to speak through you!
